Privacy and Data Protection

BFE Data

Users shall not use any BFE content elsewhere for any use, including private, public or commercial, unless written permission is provided by BFE beforehand.

Where permission is granted, credit shall be given to BFE as the originator of the content in a clear place on or near to the BFE content. All images shall be watermarked with credit to BFE. Where a watermark or credit already exists it shall not be removed, masked or excluded.

Staff will ask that unauthorised content use be removed in the first instance, will ask the same of the ISP or appropriate authority in the second, and aim to prosecute under the law by the third.

User Data

BFE will secure the personal data of Users to the level that can be reasonably expected.

Users will have the option to share certain data publicly, but choose to do so at their own risk. BFE will never share User data with any other organisation without first requesting permission from the User, unless required to do so by law.

BFE stores cookies on your computer in order to provide some of its services, including the ability for you to log in to the site. These cookies do not contain any personal data. For security and legal reasons your IP address is recorded with each post. Your IP address will not be available to anyone other than BFE Staff, and will only ever be used if a potentially legal situation arises.

Any images uploaded to the gallery will be automatically watermarked with the BFE logo. This will be placed in the bottom-right corner of the image. If a Member wishes to upload photos to the gallery, they are responsible for protecting the image, including watermarking and copyright statements. It is recommended that Member watermarks are placed on the top-left corner of the image. Users are responsible for making the copyright status clear of any content that they post.

Passwords

Passwords should only be known by the User to which it corresponds. Staff and Referees are unable to view your password and thus will never release it to any other party. If a Member forgets their password then a new one may be generated for them automatically. If a Member forgets their username or registered e-mail address, Staff will do all they reasonably can to identify the true owner of an account before releasing the username, e-mail address or resetting a password. Members shall not share their passwords with anyone else, including Staff or Referees. Staff and Referees will never ask for Member's password.

There are occasions where we may ask for access to an account for troubleshooting purposes. We shall not ask for passwords. With your permission, we shall reset your password for the duration of the troubleshooting exercise, and ask you to change it after completion.
